Man arrested for supplying Herdsmen with AK-47


Police in Enugu have arrested a suspected
gunrunner, who allegedly supplied AK-47
rifles to one herdsman, Ibrahim Adamu, who
was earlier arrested.The command’s
spokesman, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, in a
statement yesterday, said the suspect was
apprehended through intelligence supplied to
police operatives in 9th Mile Police Division,
near Enugu. .

According to him, “the suspect, who gave his
name as Samaila Garuba Alhaji, alias Bakassi,
was earlier implicated by Ibrahim Adamu as
the one that sold the AK-47 rifle to him. But
Alhaji escaped when he got the information
about Adamu’s arrest. “It was gathered that
luck, however, ran out of Bakassi, when he
was trailed to a motor park situated at 9th
Mile in Enugu early this morning (yesterday),
where he was nabbed.” Amaraizu added that
the suspect had been helping police
investigation.
